Ardeidae
Characteristic of this family is a combination of medium to long barbules with nodal structures equally distributed along the barbule though nodes are absent. Pigmentation varies from absent to stippled along the barbule. Species examined within this family: Nycticorax nycticorax, Ardeola ralloides, Bubulcus ibis, Egretta garzetta, Egretta alba, Ardea cinerea.
